Holiday Magic at Hills & Dales

One of the best kept holiday secrets is just an hour away from Atlanta

The Hills & Dales Estate (former residence of the Callaway family) located in LaGrange, GA is just an hour south of Atlanta and has opened its doors for their annual holiday tours.

On our visit, we had a chance to meet with David Brown, the lead floral designer and learn about his inspiration for decorating the home. He wanted to stay true to how the home would have been decorated during the time when Callaway family lived here.

In keeping with this vision, all of the garland and flower arrangements you see throughout the home are from the estate grounds. The whole atmosphere has a warm, nostalgic charm from the old holiday postcards on display to the vintage ornaments and tinsel hanging from the magnificent Christmas tree.

Many of the things in the home are left from the Callaway family -- from old recipe books to ornaments and decorations. There are three floors to the estate and beautiful grounds to explore. The images here are just a small taste of all there is to see. This was my second visit and will not be my last!

Make sure to add this to your bucket list. And if you can’t make it for the holidays, I recommend a visit anytime throughout the year!

If you’re interested in visiting, ticket prices and tour times can be found on their website. The holiday guided-tours run from Dec 5-30 but the home and gardens are open throughout the year for tours.
