Three Georgia Wineries within 1 hour of Atlanta

I love visiting the vineyards in the north Georgia mountains, but sometimes it's nice to have a spot a little closer to home

The Georgia wine scene is booming and it's exciting that there are so many options to explore. It use to be that you had to head to the mountains to enjoy the vineyards but now there are a lot of great options even closer to home. From farm animals to homemade pizza, there is a little something for everyone at these local wineries within an hour drive of Atlanta.

13762 Hopewell Rd, Milton, GA

Located on a gorgeous horse farm in Milton, GA, this winery is only 30 miles north of Atlanta so you don’t have to travel far to feel like you are in another world.

The winery offers trail rides and special events like barrel tastings but if you’re anything like me, I just love to sit back and enjoy the scenery. Getting to pet some sweet horses is just the icing on the rosé.

3796 N Bogan Rd, Buford, GA

Cloudland Vineyard is a charming boutique winery located in Buford, GA.The owner and staff are so friendly and there is always a nice crowd on the weekends listening to live music or huddled around a fire in the cooler months.

Located in an area you might not expect to find a winery, Cloudland has a comfortable vibe — like you have been invited to your friend’s house and their backyard happens to be a working vineyard.

1506 Stoney Point Rd, Cumming, GA

This beautiful farm winery is such a hidden gem in Cumming, Georgia! This is a one stop shop for delicious food, wine and entertainment. Make sure to try the wood fired pizza and homemade Bavarian style pretzel if you go.

From the moment you enter the property, this family run business makes you feel like you are visiting a friend on a beautiful country farm. There are lots of animals, including horses, goats, and chickens and plenty of shaded places to sit and enjoy a wide variety of wines. We always have a good time when we come here.
